What are we gonna do with our politicians across the US and Canada?
We have President Obama lying about healthcare (and now he's lying about lying - check today's news - maybe this will be the blog tomorrow?).
We have Canadian senators trying to fleece the taxpayers on their expense account.
And now, we have the Toronto Mayor Rob Ford finally admitting to smoking crack (but only after allegedly caught on video doing it)… yet he won't step down as mayor!!
The funny thing about the mayor's apology - was HOW he apologized... "yes, I smoked crack… but it was when I was in one of my drunken stupors at the time!!!"
(Oh, well, in that case, that must be okay!!!)
Mr. Ford seems to have a connection with the people of Toronto - however, his approval rating just went up 5 points to 44 after his apology.
I would argue that this is not the type of guy that any city should have as mayor - we really should hold our elected officials to a higher standard.
Toronto now joins Detroit and Washington DC in the "embarrassing mayors club"… as Jay Leno quipped last night "at least this time it's not an American!"
